Nice work! Can you give us photo nerds some tech specs on the action shots?

Thanks! I ran with a Canon 5DR paired with a Sigma 60-600. I feel like that lens really was the perfect choice for someone shooting from the stands. It’s not small but its not so big to where you couldn’t carry it in a small camera backpack.

s far as camera settings, the 5DR has a strange way of setting ISO. You have to pick a range and it does the work on its own. I feel like there’s a way to set it manually but I couldn’t figure it out in the short time I had it. As far as shutter speed I started at 1/125 for more close up shots so I could still retain some motion blur in the back and went as slow as a 1/30 for my wider shots for that maximum motion blur. I feel like I could have gone even lower if I had a monopod with me, but it was handheld all weekend so I was a bit limited.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing! Were you hanging out in GA or did you have photog access?

Thank you! I had grandstand seats at tur n 14 and hung around some GA areas during practice. Having a photog pass would’ve been a dream for me

Making me jealous with that 5DR. All I have is the EOS Rebel and I paired it with a Tamron 16-300 for good, but not great results.
